What this site collects

Almost nothing. There are no accounts and no comments, and the site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. The one thing you can type in is your email address, if you choose to sign up for Charlotte's occasional letter. That is covered below.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like every web server, Vercel's servers record technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, your browser and the page you asked for, so they can deliver the page and protect the site from abuse. Charlotte does not use these records to identify visitors. Vercel's own privacy policy explains how it handles them.

If you email Charlotte

The Email button opens your own email app. If you write to charlottemcsbooks@gmail.com, Charlotte receives your email address and whatever you choose to include. She uses it only to reply to you. It is not added to a mailing list or shared with anyone. The mailbox is provided by Google (Gmail).

The occasional letter

If you enter your email address in one of the sign-up boxes, it is used for one thing: to send you Charlotte's occasional letter. It is never sold, never shared and never used to advertise anything to you.

Signing up takes two steps. When you submit the form, you are sent an email asking you to confirm. You are only added to the list once you click the link in that email. If you never click it, your address is not added, and nothing further is sent to you. This also means nobody can put your address on the list without access to your inbox.

The list itself is held by Brevo, an email service based in France, which stores your address and the date you confirmed, and sends the letters on Charlotte's behalf. No name, no other details.

When you submit the form, the server briefly notes the IP address the request came from so that it can stop the form being hammered automatically. It is not written down or kept.

You can leave at any time. Every letter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click removes you. You can also email charlottemcsbooks@gmail.com and ask to be taken off, or to have your address deleted entirely.

Links to other websites

Links to Amazon, Yeni Yaşam Yayınları, Kitap Dinler, Instagram and Facebook take you to other websites. Each has its own privacy policy, and this site has no control over what they collect.

Your choices

You can ask what information Charlotte holds about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted, by emailing charlottemcsbooks@gmail.com.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top will change with it.
